I'm a lover of love who is addicted to Starbucks and goes through weekly phases of favorite foods. I'm a wifey to a firefighter and a dogmom to a grumpy Whippet. I love having lunch dates and dream of traveling the world.
Saturday was such a gorgeous day! Andrew and Amy had great weather and the most wonderful people surrounding them!
I started my day being warmly welcomed into Andrew’s childhood home. I secretly wished I had room in my belly for the most delicious looking breakfast. It was a laid back morning for Andrew with all his best guys sitting around the breakfast table laughing and getting excited for the day ahead.
From there we went over to the Courtyard Marriott to join Amy and her girls as they got the finishing touches ready! We took over the stairwell with shoes, jewelry, dresses, and details since it had the most gorgeous light streaming through the windows!
At the church the girls tried their best to play a serious game of euchre, but there was just too much anxious anticipation, that no one could focus! One of Amy’s good friends was a long distance bridesmaid. She’s due with her bundle of joy any moment now, and so she wasn’t able to travel for the wedding. There were lots of tears from everyone as Amy and Aileen facetimed when Amy got into her dress. I’m sure it was so hard to be apart that day, but everyone made sure to still include her for the best parts!
Bana and I were able to ride the party bus around downtown and dance, sing, and have so much fun in between our photo stops! Scioto Mile and North Bank park gave us some amazing views, shade, and the most refreshing breeze to cool us all off! I had the best time shooting the groomsmen. They were all excited when I told them to make a “flying V” behind Andrew, and they immediately went into Mighty Ducks mode 🙂 We lucked out when it came time to do Amy’s bridal portraits. The most perfect Beyonce wind came along and swept her veil up in the most dreamy way! I must have taken about 50 shots!!
I loved that Andrew and Amy wanted to join their guests during cocktail hour! I wish more couples were able to do that! After some of the funnest bridal party introductions of all time, the newlyweds shared their first dance as husband and wife. Both the best man’s and the maid of honor’s toasts were so heartfelt, and full of touching moments. There, of course, were funny moments, like Andrew kicking around a soccer ball, and having to endure some photographic evidence that he was once obsessed with NSync. Me too, Andrew. Me too.
The reception was kicked off with a flash mob, a family Hokey Pokey tradition, and a jam packed dance floor! There were so many people celebrating with Andrew and Amy all night!
Andrew and Amy, thank you SO SO much for having Bana and I with you Saturday! You made our job super easy and I loved seeing how much fun you two were able to have all day! Have the most amazing time on your honeymoon, and I’ll see you guys in January!
