I'm a lover of love who is addicted to Starbucks and goes through weekly phases of favorite foods. I'm a wifey to a firefighter and a dogmom to a grumpy Whippet. I love having lunch dates and dream of traveling the world.
I had such an amazing time Saturday at Zach and Kayla’s wedding!
Kayla started her wedding day prep at home, which I always love! Everyone was so welcoming and the whole house was buzzing with excitement! In between taking photos, Bana and I found the family cat, and we kind of melted a little when he woke up long enough to give us some googly eyes and enjoy our pets. If I had known there was going to be a fluffy pile of cuteness there, I may have added a little more time in the timeline for hanging out with the cat. You think I’m joking.
One thing I could tell, was that Zach and Kayla are truly loved. Everyone who was there that morning was so happy to be there. Kayla’s mom was busy making breakfast and then lunch. The girls were all helping each other and about once every 10 minutes, you could hear one of them say “You look amazing, Kay!!!” It reminded me of my own childhood home where everyone was always welcome, mom would always make you something to eat, there were priceless memories hanging on every wall, and you weren’t welcomed into the house without a hug. I could have stayed there all day!
When Kayla and her girls arrived to The Vault, they were ready to get that wedding gown on and get this show on the road! The moment finally came for the bride to become a bride. Kayla’s mom and sister helped her slip into her stunning blush pink gown. The cathedral veil was added and everyone couldn’t help but gush over how incredibly beautiful Kayla looked! She truly took everyone’s breath away!
Now it was time for the Zach and Kayla to have their first look! We walked over to the Renaissance Inn. It was only half a block away, but it might as well have been miles. Everyone was excited and anxious and ready for this moment!
Zach waited on the rooftop deck for his bride. I always wonder what the thought process is for the Groom right at this moment. He can probably sense her walking towards him. He can probably hear the rustling of her dress. He probably has a million racing visions of his gorgeous bride just steps behind him.
Kayla wrapped her arms around him and gave him a squeeze. He turned around and witnessed the most dazzling vision in real life. This was his bride! His one and only!
With the city landscape in the background, we embraced the Beyonce wind on the roof and got to know this amazing bridal party! Zach and Kayla have some wonderful friends! The boys were great sports when they needed to hold the bouquets for the girls. AND we didn’t lose anything (like bouquet’s pretending to be rockets) over the edge of the building!
As I was waiting near the altar before the ceremony, Kayla’s beyond cute grandpa started talking to me about my camera. He showed me his little point and shoot that he was really proud to be using. He started talking about the days of film and how he has dozens of old cameras! I told him to never throw those away! His beyond cute wife leans over to me and says “He never throws anything away!” My goodness they were adorable! He smiled the whole rest of the night and had that little point and shoot working on overtime! He even wanted to take a photo of me with Zach and Kayla! If I could’ve put him in my pocket, I would have! 🙂
The rest of the night was filled with heartfelt words, touching stories, cake, dancing, and fun!
Zach and Kayla, thank you both from the bottom of my heart for having Bana and I with you on your wedding day! It’s been so wonderful getting to know you both, and I’m so happy that you’ve finally closed the long distance between the two of you!
