I'm a lover of love who is addicted to Starbucks and goes through weekly phases of favorite foods. I'm a wifey to a firefighter and a dogmom to a grumpy Whippet. I love having lunch dates and dream of traveling the world.
Working from home, that’s the dream, right?
While I don’t take it for granted that I can peek outside in the morning, see snow on the ground, and decide I’m not leaving the house, it’s not an easy lifestyle to be in.
Most days, I get distracted with other things- whether it’s laundry that needs done, dishes piled in the sink, or Netflix calling my name. Working from home is still that. Working.
I’ve tried designating one day a week solely to work. So far, that’s been fairly successful. Sometimes I’ll plan a coffee or lunch date with another creative, but for the most part, I’ve been able to accomplish a lot on that day. And then I’ve given myself two other afternoons during the week to work.
I’ve tossed around the idea of going to a co-working space a couple times a week. But there again, it’s nice to see snow outside or decide I want to take advantage of good weather and play hooky. Because isn’t the actual dream? Playing hooky without consequences?! 🙂
