When it comes to choosing colors, it’s generally a good idea to follow the “less is more” rule. Choose a main color, a neutral, and then a coordinating color pop.
Be sure that your color scheme is in line with your work and your niche.
For instance, if you’re a light and airy wedding photographer, you’ll do well with lighter colors like white, gray, pale pink, etc. Keep in mind that your branding colors should match your work, so if you’re a dark and moody wedding photographer, those light colors are going to contradict what your clients see in your work. You’d want to choose a scheme along the lines of black, slate gray, eggplant, etc.
Another example is if you’re a lifestyle family photographer. Maybe you’ll want earthy colors like olive green, mustard yellow, and cherry wood grain. But if you’re a lifestyle family photographer in a coastal area, you’d be better off choosing brighter colors like kelly green, sunshine yellow, and a light oak wood grain.
And of course, you want to pick a color scheme that you can stick with for the long haul. Rebranding is not something you want to go through all the time! Choose colors that speak to you as an individual and will speak to your business and clients!
