I’m a huge advocate for what I like to call “listing.” Listing is when you can not function or get anything done without some sort of list telling you what to do.
My whole life and business run on lists. There’s a list for everyday tasks, everyday business tasks, tasks that need done with each client, grocery lists, dinner planning lists, a list for cleaning the house, a list for deep cleaning, a list of tasks to accomplish each month, a list for the goals I want to achieve (broken down by day, week, month, and year), and I’m sure there are so many more lists that I just can’t think of at the moment.
I used to be a little embarrassed about having so many lists. Or how dependant I was on them. But you know what? I’ve learned to embrace that part of my personality. I’m just one of those people that can not remember to do anything unless it’s written down. Actually, there are a lot of those people in my family, so maybe it’s a genetic thing.
Yeah. The List Gene.
