Trying to Turn This Black Thumb Green- Personal

I am trying SO HARD to be a plant lady. It’s like the adult version of elementary school when everyone else had the coveted kitten Lisa Frank trapper keeper and I had one with just regular kittens. I want to be like everyone else with their fiddle fig trees and tables lines with succulents.

You see, I come from a long line of plant ladies. My grandparents (ALL OF THEM) gardened and had beautiful works of art in their yards. My mom has worked so hard on her landscaping and I love relaxing on the back deck surrounded by her work.

And then there’s me.

I have killed more plants than I care to think about. However, I AM managing to keep alive two succulents and an air plant and possibly a lemon tree (although it’s super tiny, isn’t producing any lemons, and has been on the brink of death a number of times.) I’m slowly but surely killing the Benjamina Ficas my mom gave me, and also the fern she gave me, and the basil plant is unmistakably dead. I recently purchased a snake plant because Fox in the Snow (my favorite coffee of all time) has them and so by me having them, it automatically makes me feel hipster. So far, so good with that guy.

So tell me, what color thumb do you have? Any tips and tricks for me?
