How Personal Should You Get?- Photography Business Education

I’m sure, like most people, you don’t want to put super personal things online. So where do you draw the line?

A good rule of thumb is: don’t put anything online that you wouldn’t tell someone you just met in real life.

For instance, I live in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. But I never say which city I actually live in. I never post images or talk about what car I drive, what street I live on, or what my neighborhood looks like. I’m also very cautious about posting photos of other people (especially children of my friends) without first asking for permission. I also don’t talk about details of my husband’s job, where my parents and grandparents live or details about them.

In the end, only share what you’re comfortable sharing!
